This forecast is based on overall market trends, a company’s market share, and internal metrics such as quotes, orders and shipments. This enables management to look forward and project future business in real time. Product changes, currency conversion, and material cost changes are reflected in the forward forecast.
Based on market trends and market share, this forecast is coupled with current customer orders and sales to date. The composite forecast is compared to the operating plan to identify variances in performance to quickly analyze supply chain demand and apply course corrections when needed.
